PASSED: 14 Bills to Protect Consumers, Strengthen Supply Chains, and Honor American Heroes
I’m proud to report that this week, the House came together to pass a series of bipartisan bills focused on protecting American families, strengthening our economy, and standing up for our national security. Here’s a quick look at some of the wins we delivered:
Celebrating the Miracle on Ice
We took an important step to honor the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team — the "Miracle on Ice" team — by passing a bill awarding them the Congressional Gold Medal. Their victory against the Soviet Union was about more than sports; it showed the strength and spirit of America at a time when we needed it most. It was an honor to help recognize these American heroes through the Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act.
Fighting Hidden Fees and Protecting Families
We also passed several bills this week that are going to make life a little more fair, safe, and transparent for families across the country. The TICKET Act takes on hidden fees in concert and event ticket sales, while the Hotel Fees Transparency Act cracks down on the surprise charges that too many travelers get hit with at checkout.
At the same time, we made sure kids and families are better protected. The TAKE IT DOWN Act will help create a safer digital future and protect our kids from deep fake exploitation. We also passed the Informing Consumers About Smart Devices Act — because people deserve to know when a device is capable of recording in their own home.
Bringing Critical Manufacturing Back Home
If COVID taught us anything, it's that we can’t afford to depend on foreign adversaries for critical goods. That’s why I’m excited that we passed bills like the Securing Semiconductor Supply Chains Act to boost American manufacturing of the microchips that power everything from cars to smartphones.
We also passed the Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act to help rebuild our manufacturing base for energy, water, and communications systems, as well as the Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act to make sure our economy is stronger and better prepared for the future.
Securing Our Technology and Communications
In today’s world, protecting our digital infrastructure is just as important as protecting our borders. We passed the NTIA Reauthorization Act to modernize the agency that helps manage our internet and communications systems, as well as the ROUTERS Act to make sure telecommunications equipment is safe from foreign threats.
Additionally, the Foreign Adversary Communications Transparency Act brings much-needed sunlight to who really owns our communication networks, while the Rural Broadband Protection Act ensures that taxpayer dollars for rural internet expansion are being spent wisely and effectively.
Looking ahead, we’re staying on the cutting edge with the FUTURE Networks Act to invest in next-generation internet like 6G, as well as the Secure Space Act to protect America’s leadership in satellite and space communications.
Looking Ahead
Every one of these bills is a step toward a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America. Whether it’s fighting hidden fees, protecting our kids, securing our critical supply chains, or pushing back against foreign threats, I’m proud to stand up and deliver real results for the people I represent. We still have a lot of work to do, but I’m confident that by working together, we’ll keep making America even stronger.
