Investing in Owosso Water Infrastructure
The rising cost of water bills is one of the biggest concerns facing families in Owosso. The massive expense of replacing outdated infrastructure is increasing costs for ratepayers, and I’ve heard about that challenge from many local residents.
That’s why I got to work to address this need. I collaborated with local officials and put in a request for a federal investment to support these critical infrastructure repairs. I’m proud to announce that the Water Resources Development Act of 2026, which recently passed the House of Representatives, includes $47 million to help replace broken Owosso water infrastructure. Specifically, these funds would help Owosso replace old water supply lines and the city’s water treatment system.
In the House of Representatives, we did our job and passed this crucial legislation. Now, the Senate needs to deliver. Once the Senate passes the Water Resources Development Act, it will head to the president’s desk so he can sign it into law. I’ll continue working to get the job done, deliver funding for water infrastructure, and lower costs for Owosso families.
