“We heard a bold vision for the future from the president. He talked about what we’ve done, the achievements we’ve had — securing the border, removing violent criminal illegal immigrants. We recognized the American hockey team, the Olympic champion, gold medal winning hockey team. We had two medal of honor recipients recognized tonight, really a stunning and incredible display of patriotism. I was proud to be there tonight.
“I’m looking forward to what we’re going to do this year, in this legislative term, to continue to deliver results for the American people. All of you should be getting bigger tax [refunds], better income earning. Our economy is growing stronger every single day. Our border is secure. Fentanyl deaths are down. But we have a lot more work to go, and I’m excited to dig in and get started on that all over again tomorrow.”
Barrett joined President Trump in celebrating the historic progress made since last year, including permanent tax relief for the working class, new economic opportunity, stronger border security, and more.
