Congressman Tom Barrett Votes to Unleash American Energy Production

Washington, D.C. —  Today, Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07) voted YES on the Protecting American Energy Production Act (H.R. 26) to safeguard American oil and natural gas production by preventing any president from unilaterally imposing a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing without congressional approval.  

“The American people spent the last four years pinching pennies thanks to the Biden administration’s disastrous energy policies that shut down production and made us dangerously dependent on foreign adversaries like Russia and China,” said Barrett. “That changes today with H.R. 26, which will once again unleash American energy and strengthen our national security. “I’m proud to support this bill because Michigan families and businesses deserve reliable, affordable energy that makes life more affordable and creates American jobs.”
