Barrett Statement on Iran War Powers Resolution

Today, Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07) issued the following statement regarding his vote against the War Powers Resolution for the U.S. Military operations in Iran:

“Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was an undeniable threat to the United States and our allies around the world. For the first time in nearly five decades, the Iranian people are out from under the authoritarian rule of a regime who brutally murdered thousands of Americans, including friends of mine, and its own people in an endless pursuit of a nuclear weapon.  

“President Trump has earned the opportunity to resolve this conflict quickly and with minimal casualties. I will be watching closely and praying for our troops abroad and the Iranian people as this operation continues.”
