Washington can be frustrating—but even with all the noise, we are still able to come together and get real, bipartisan work done that makes life better for everyday Americans. This past week, I proudly voted YES on 19 bipartisan bills that do just that. These proposals help small businesses, protect consumers, strengthen national security, and modernize how our government works.
- H.R. 3394 – Fair Investment Opportunities for Professional Experts Act
This bill gives more Americans a fair shot at investing in private markets—opportunities that are typically reserved for the ultra-wealthy. If you have the education or experience to understand complex investments, this bill ensures you don’t get locked out just because you don't have a high income. It’s about expanding access and recognizing financial expertise beyond just a bank balance. - H.R. 1998 – Sanction Sea Pirates Act of 2025
Piracy may sound like a thing of the past, but it's making a dangerous comeback—especially off the coast of Somalia. This bill lets the U.S. impose sanctions on individuals and organizations involved in maritime piracy, disrupting global shipping. It’s a strong message: we won't tolerate threats to trade, commerce, or human safety on international waters. - H.R. 2808 – Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act
When you apply for a mortgage, your personal info gets sold to marketers—triggering a flood of unwanted calls. This bill puts a stop to that. It keeps your financial data private and prevents credit agencies from profiting off your home loan application without your consent. - H.R. 1190 – Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act
Rural small businesses often face extra hurdles when trying to raise money. This bill requires the SEC to include rural businesses in its reports on access to capital, ensuring their unique challenges are considered in national policy and funding strategies. - H.R. 3381 – Encouraging Public Offerings Act of 2025
Taking a company public can be a bureaucratic maze. This bill cuts red tape by allowing all companies—not just small startups—to have confidential discussions with potential investors and file early paperwork privately. It encourages more businesses to go public without overwhelming them with red tape. - H.R. 3301 – ELEVATE Act of 2025
Currently, smaller companies going public must submit more years of audited financials than bigger firms. That’s not fair. This bill reduces that requirement from three years to two, helping startups compete on equal footing and lowering the cost of entry into public markets. - H.R. 2225 – Access to Small Business Investor Capital Act
A technical accounting rule has been discouraging funds from investing in small and mid-sized companies through business development companies (BDCs). This bill fixes that by removing the double-counting of fees, unlocking more capital for businesses that need it most. - H.R. 3352 – HALOS Act of 2025
Startup founders need to pitch ideas to investors at “demo days”—but old laws made that risky. This bill gives legal clarity to allow those events, ensuring entrepreneurs can network and raise funds without running afoul of outdated securities laws. - H.R. 1713 – Agricultural Risk Review Act of 2025
Foreign governments shouldn’t be quietly buying up U.S. farmland. This bill makes the Secretary of Agriculture a permanent voice on the national committee that reviews foreign investments, especially those involving food production and agriculture. - H.R. 910 – Taiwan Non-Discrimination Act of 2025
Taiwan is a thriving democracy and a vital U.S. partner, yet it’s excluded from the International Monetary Fund. This bill directs U.S. officials to advocate for Taiwan’s participation, reinforcing our support for allies and fairness in global finance. - H.R. 1082 – Shandra Eisenga Human Cell and Tissue Product Safety Act
This bill improves how we screen donated tissue for diseases like tuberculosis, helping ensure transplants are safe and patients are protected. It’s a straightforward way to boost safety in our health system. - H.R. 1520 – Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act
No one should be denied a life-saving transplant because of a disability. This bill bans that kind of discrimination and ensures every patient is treated fairly in the organ transplant process. - H.R. 1664 – Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025
Blockchain technology could revolutionize cybersecurity, logistics, and finance—but the U.S. risks falling behind. This bill establishes a national strategy to promote innovation, create standards, and protect our leadership in this critical technology sector. - H.R. 1767 – Awning Safety Act of 2025
Faulty retractable awnings have caused injuries and even deaths. This bill requires safety standards to make sure these everyday products are properly tested and safe to use. - H.R. 2269 – WIPPES Act
So-called “flushable” wipes are clogging sewer systems and costing taxpayers millions. This bill requires clear “Do Not Flush” labels to protect public infrastructure and keep our plumbing systems running smoothly. - H.R. 1679 – Global Investment in American Jobs Act of 2025
This bill calls for a government-wide review of how we attract foreign investment—making sure we’re open to responsible investors from trusted countries while protecting against economic threats, especially from China’s state-run companies. - H.R. 2481 – Romance Scam Prevention Act
Online romance scams are emotionally and financially devastating. This bill requires dating apps to notify users if they’ve interacted with someone whose account was flagged or terminated for fraud—helping users protect their hearts and their wallets. - H.R. 1737 – Trans-Atlantic Fiber Optic Cable Study
This bill launches a study into building a secure undersea internet cable connecting the U.S. to Africa through the U.S. Virgin Islands. It would strengthen global internet security, enhance military communications, and promote economic growth. - H.R. 260 – No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act
This bill ensures that no U.S. aid—directly or indirectly—ends up supporting the Taliban. It’s a safeguard to make sure taxpayer dollars never fund terror or tyranny.
Each of these bills addresses a real problem with a real solution. They’re bipartisan, practical, and focused on improving life for hard working Americans. I’ll keep working across the aisle to get things done and I’ll always put people before politics.
